During a flute re pad instruments are inspected, stripped, cleaned and polished. Tone holes checked and adjusted as necessary. Minor dents removed, if possible, Springs and Corks replaced where needed, including head joint corks. I do not replace all springs during a re-pad as this is not in the best interest of the instrument (it can cause more problems later if not required). I will replace any spring that has come to the end of its serviceable life or looks like it is close to this point.  Instrument is reassembled and regulation is set up. Best quality pads are fitted. Head joint and foot joint tenons are inspected and reshaped, if needed to ensure correct fitting. A free three month inspection is also included in the price. This will give me an opportunity to inspect the work and make any minor adjustments needed after the settling in of new pads.

Re pad work carries a 12 month guarantee. Not to include wear and tear or miss-use.

Cost for re-padding a flute starts at £140.

This can vary depending on type of flute (open hole or closed) and professional may cost a little more.

For example: The gold plated pads that I fit to my wife's pro flute. Cost considerably more than a Yamaha  211 re-pad.

Please be sure of your instrument type when enquiring.
